Vanessa grew* up in California. Her dad is Irish* and Native* American. Her mum is Filipino, Chinese and Spanish! She is very close* to her younger sister Stella. Vanessa started singing in musicals when she was only eight years old. She loves animals, and has a poodle* named Shadow, three turtles*, fish and a rabbit*!

Music is also important to Vanessa in real life. In 2008 she relased her last album Identified. "This time I did what I wanted to do. i always had a gift* for a more jazzy sound*.
